The first city once you pass the north tower on the Golden Gate Bridge, and perhaps one of the best-known cities in Marin County. Sausalito is known for its hillside homes with spectacular views of SF and the bay and east to Alcatraz. Sausalito is also a popular tourist destination. Today’s population is approximately 7100 residents, who enjoy a community known for its local’s area (link) and internationally famous Sausalito Arts Festival. The western boarders of Sausalito are the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which offer numerous adventures for everyone.
